Midwest Youth Game Jam 2015

Join us Friday, February 20 and Saturday, February 21 at Youth Learning Center's Midwest Youth Game Jam! What exactly is a Game Jam, you ask? Kids with a love of video games, card games, board games, video game design, or just games in general get together for a weekend and are challenged to create a completely unique and creative game based around a secret theme! There is no cost to participate and no prior game design experience is necessary.

Don't know how to program or still developing your programming skills? No problem! Each team will have its own game design industry professional to assist with programming/coding! Want to brush up on your programming skills before the event? Check out YLC's online GameSalad class on Udemy.com.

Dinner on Friday night, lunch on Saturday, and a cool t-shirt will all be provided for participants at no cost!

Macs and PCs will be provided, but feel free to bring your own as well.

Doors open at 5:30 PM on Friday night with the theme reveal and team formation starting at 6:00 PM. Jamming begins Saturday morning at 10 AM with the final game reveal at 3:30 PM where you'll unveil your finished product.

Register online or in person at 4471 Olive St. Saint Louis, MO 63108. Registration prior to the day of the event is RECOMMENDED in order to guarantee a spot, as they will fill quickly. The event is FREE thanks to our generous sponsors! Upon completing your registration, a welcome packet with more information will be emailed to the parent's email address provided on the registration form.
